Tank tops

A basic tank, basketball-style top and work singlet may share a sleeveless shape, but the fabric, fit, armhole, neckline and construction can be very different. Intended use is the most useful place to start.

TANK TOP TYPES

Start with how it will be worn

Basic tanks, basketball-style tops and work singlets may share a sleeveless shape, but the fit, armhole, neckline, fabric and construction can be very different. Intended use is the clearest place to start.

01

Basic tank

A basic tank is usually defined by the fit, neckline, armhole shape and fabric. Small changes to those proportions can move the same base garment from an everyday layer toward a more fashion-oriented style.

02

Basketball-style top

Basketball-style tops usually need a roomier cut, larger armholes and fabrics that suit the intended sport or teamwear program. Neck and armhole finishing are important parts of the specification.

Singlet

For workwear or uniform use, the singlet specification is usually more practical than fashion-led. Fabric, fit, visibility requirements, branding and the working environment shape the product.

Fabric

The use decides the fabric

Rib, jersey, interlock and bird-eye constructions produce different levels of structure and stretch. The same sleeveless silhouette can therefore require a very different fabric depending on its use.

DECORATION

The right finish for your artwork

Blank garments are available if decoration is handled elsewhere. Harvion can also provide screen printing, embroidery, heat transfer and DTF/PET-film transfer as part of the order. Artwork, fabric and placement determine which method is most suitable.

Screen printing

Screen printing works well for many garment graphics, from small logos to larger prints. Colour count, print area and fabric influence the print setup.

Embroidery

Embroidery suits logos and branding where a stitched finish is appropriate, particularly on polos, uniforms and heavier fabrics. Artwork may need adjustment for scale and stitch density.

Heat transfer

Transfer methods can work well for detailed or multicolour artwork and designs that do not suit traditional screen printing. Heat transfer and DTF/PET-film each give a different result depending on the artwork and fabric.

Next step

Show us how it needs to be worn

Tell us the intended use and estimated quantity, then add a reference garment, image or specification if you have one. That usually gives enough context to narrow down the fit, fabric and construction.
